Classical Music
I am classically trained with an Honours degree from the University of Southern Queensland (Toowoomba). I am happy to assist students who wish to focus on any element of classical music, including completing ABRSM or Trinity college grades, solo work, chamber music or playing with an orchestra.
Gypsy Swing and
Jazz Ballads/Bebop
Students wishing to play in this style will soon find a good outlet practicing their modes and arpeggios etc along with high quality backing tracks, then going to play at the various jazz jam sessions around Bristol.
Folk, Celtic and Gypsy
I have been playing folk and gypsy music from an early age. I'm very happy to assist students that want to learn jigs, reels and ballads, who want to improvise in this style, or who want to write their own fiddle parts to play along with a folk band.
Compose Your Own Music
Composing your own music is a a lot easier than it sounds! To begin with, improvisation is the key. When this is coupled with a solid grounding in music theory you only need a little bit of inspiration to get started. As well as composing my own solo violin pieces I have also composed various electronic pieces with multiple parts and have a good working knowledge of AbletonLive music software.
